From Our Customers: These Guys Have Never Let Us Down

Oil Can Henry's - The Dalles, OregonThese guys have never let us down.\n\nThey service our ’93 work rig, ’02 daily commuter, our recently purchased ’07 commuter and my BFF’s ’04 commuter.\n\nThey communicate perfectly during the service and take all the time you need.\n\nI’ve brought two newly purchased used vehicles here for the basic oil change, asked them to be my eyes and ears and check it all over and been so thankful I did. They catch little things the dealership overlooked.\n\nThe techs are respectful and have a great sense of humor.  Good old school service and knowledge you don’t come close to getting at their “giffy” or competitors.  They back up their work and work hard.\n\nMuch respect. We’ll keep going here for years and cars to come.\n\n~ Jack H.\nThe Dalles, OR

September Anniversaries: Making the Best of It

Oil Can Henry's - West Linn, 8th CourtResidents of West Linn, Oregon, enjoy a wonderful quality of life highlighted by beautiful scenery, diverse recreation opportunities, lush parks, and bountiful farmers markets.\n\nSo, it should come as no surprise that West Linn has twice been named to CNN/Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live” list (2009 and 2011).\n\nWe at Oil Can Henry’s wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.\n\nFor more than 23 years, we’ve provided local drivers and visitors with quick, convenient and thorough vehicle maintenance services they can trust and, in the process, developed a special place in our hearts for West Linn.\n\nOur Willamette Drive center opened in 1991, and our 8th Court center, located just off I-205, opened seven years later, on September 8, 1998. Congratulations, and a big Thank You!, to our hard working teams at both locations. And, a tip of the Gatsby cap to our Watsonville and Whittier centers, which are also celebrating anniversaries this month:\n

From Our Customers: You Are My Hero

Oil Can Henry's - 5020 S.W. Philomath Boulevard in Corvallis, Oregon
Oil Can Henry’s – Corvallis, OregonToday, you are my hero!!
\n\nToday, you are my hero!!\n\nI knew I had a good thing with you, having you change the oil in my 1991 Ford Explorer for the past 10 years (or more), helping it reach the ripe old age of 402k miles. But now, you have completely blown my gasket, in a good way, with your sincere care for my car.\n\nI live on the beautiful Oregon Coast, which requires me to cross the Coast Range when heading for the I-5 corridor, what we call “The Valley.” My car had made it over the last mountain and was heading for the town of Corvallis where I always stop at the Oil Can Henry’s on Highway 34 (in Corvallis) to get the oil topped off before turning north for Portland.\n\nAt this time I smelled burning oil and could tell it was coming from my vehicle’s engine. I crossed my fingers and drove the additional 10 mile to my usual stop for oil. The team at the Corvallis OCH service center were quick to inspect my vehicle and could tell from the leaking oil that there was a serious problem.\n\nI was ready to bite the bullet and call for a tow truck when Aaron, the manager, stepped up as my emergency angel. He suggested I wait while he and his team identified the damaged part, an oil pressure regulating thingamajig, and offered to replace it himself. Wow, what a surprise! Suddenly, I felt so safe knowing that OCH really cared about my safety and well being.\n\nIn less than an hour, my old Explorer was back on the road and peacefully rolling towards our destination, with the oil well topped.\n\nI can’t thank these guys enough and wish to sing their praise…\n

Don’t Top-Up Your Gas Tank! It’s Bad for Your Vehicle, and Your Wallet

Gas_Pump_NozzleHeaded to the gas station? Don’t top-up your tank. It’s bad for your vehicle and your wallet.\n\nAccording to www.dailyfinance.com, “Once the pump automatically clicks off, you’re not getting much additional gas after. Instead, fuel is likely being diverted through the pump’s vapor recovery system and right back into the station’s tank. That means you’re paying for gas that you’re not getting.”\n\nLearn more here.

August Anniversaries: Growing Older Together in Oakley

Oil_Can_Henrys_Oakley_California_BlogYou could say Oil Can Henry’s and the community of Oakley, California, have grown up together.\n\nOakley, centrally located 55 miles east of San Francisco and 55 miles south of Sacramento, was incorporated just 15 years ago, on July 1, 1999.\n\nEight days later, John N. Shepanek opened his Oil Can Henry’s service center across Highway 4 in Antioch.\n\nThe Antioch center proved to be so popular with residents of Oakley and Brentwood (which borders Oakley on the south) that John opened a new center on Main Street in Oakley four years later, on August 8, 2004.\n\nToday, Oakley is a thriving, growing community of more than 37,500. And Oil Can Henry’s is providing quick, convenient and thorough oil changes and other preventive maintenance services to thousands upon thousands of happy drivers.\n\nOur congratulations to Oakley on its first 15 years, and to John and his team of friendly, trained technicians on 11 years of service in Oakley.\n\nA tip of our Gatsby caps to the 10 other Oil Can Henry’s service centers celebrating August anniversaries:\n

From Our Customers: I Love This Place

Oil_Can_Henrys_Longmont_Colorado
Oil Can Henry’s – 1646 Pace Street in Longmont, Colorado
\n\nI love this place. Since moving to Longmont this is the only place I’ve gone for maintenance. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Everything is explained and filters and fluid are shown to me. I get options and feel free to ask for explanations before I pick.\n\nTwo items were not in stock, a cabin filter and a serpentine belt, but were ordered and arrived while the rest of the maintenance was being completed.\n\nI was offered a paper (had my Ipad) and water twice, which I accepted gratefully.\n\nI was there about an hour (had a lot of work done) and I never felt like the work was being hurried to get me out and another customer in. The staff really seemed to enjoy working together, which makes the whole atmosphere very comfortable. Brandon, my upper tech, was somewhat new and a real sweetheart. I heard one of the other techs explaining a procedure at one point to him – he was eager to learn and appreciative of the help and the other tech didn’t act like he had something else he’d rather being doing (very important to a customer).\n\nOverall, as always, a really enjoyable experience.\n\n~ Mary H.\nLongmont, CO
