It’s home to four universities — Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University, Whitworth University, and Washington State University’s urban health sciences campus — and a lot of big ideas that produce big results. For example:\n\n1974 World’s Fair: The city attracted more than 5.2 million visitors to Expo ‘74, the first environmentally-themed World’s Fair. Forty years later, you can still enjoy some of the structures built for the event as you stroll the picturesque Riverfront Park.\n\nLilac Bloomsday Run: On the first Sunday in May for each of the past 37 years, tens of thousands of runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes have descended on Spokane to take on the challenging 12 kilometer (7.46 miles) Lilac Bloomsday course. The world-renowned event has drawn more than 40,000 participants each year since 1986 and boasted a massive field of 61,298 in 1996.\n\nHoopsfest: The biggest 3-on-3 tournament on Earth, Hoopfest hosts more than 7,0000 teams and 225,000 fans during its three-day run. Teams battle it out on 450 courts that occupy 42 city blocks — and generate a slam dunk economic impact for the community.\n\nOil Can Henry’s was certainly thinking big when we decided to bring our trusted service to this scenic corner of the world.\n\nOver the past six years, we’ve opened five convenient locations to serve drivers in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and, most recently, Spokane Valley.\n\nThis month, the terrific team at our Spokane – S. Thor Street center is celebrating four fabulous years of superior service.
